Data Analysis with SPSS is designed to teach students how to explore data in a systematic manner using the most popular professional social statistics program on the market today.

Written in ten manageable chapters, this book first introduces students to the approach researchers use to frame research questions and the logic of establishing causal relations. Students are then oriented to the SPSS program and how to examine data sets. Subsequent chapters guide them through univariate analysis, bivariate analysis, graphic analysis, and multivariate analysis. Students conclude their course by learning how to write a research report and by engaging in their own research project.

Each book is packaged with a disk containing the GSS (General Social Survey) file and the States data files. The GSS file contains 100 variables generated from interviews with 2,900 people, concerning their behaviors and attitudes on a wide variety of issues such as abortion, religion, prejudice, sexuality, and politics. The States data allows comparison of all 50 states with 400 variables indicating issues such as unemployment, environment, criminality, population, and education. Students will ultimately use these data to conduct their own independent research project with SPSS.

Don't buy unless theres a CD included I didn't like this book as much as I had hoped. Good info but didn't do the best job at explaining how to use SPSS. Don't buy this used if there is no CD!Soc will be the death of me The book got here just in time for class! Easy to read and follow along, but the class is still awful :/Great textbook choice This is a very informative manual for the SPSS program. It goes into descriptive detail for terminology and associated analyses. The verbiage can be a bit monotonous, but to be fair, unless you're enthralled by stats that's almost certainly inevitable.

100 Write-and-Learn Sight Word Practice Pages Download

ISBN: 0439365627
Title: 100 Write-and-Learn Sight Word Practice Pages Pdf Engaging Reproducible Activity Pages That Help Kids Recognize, Write, and Really LEARN the Top 100 High-Frequency Words That are Key to Reading Success
Author: Scholastic Teaching Resources
Published Date: 2002-02
Page: 112
Watch confidence soar as children master 100 sight words—the words most commonly encountered in any text. Children read more fluently, write with greater ease, and spell more accurately when they know these high-frequency words! These fun, ready-to-go practice pages let kids trace, copy, manipulate, cut and paste, and write each sight word on their own. Features words from the Dolch Word List, a commonly recognized core of sight words. Also includes games and extension activities. For use with Grades K-2.

Frustrating The cut and paste letters are in same position on both sides of the page. Therefore you have to choose for which word to solve the question "cut and paste the letters of the sight word". It causes significant frustration for both the chld and parent. It would have been so easy to print those letters on different location on each side of the page.Inconsistent skill levels? I agree with most of what the other reviewers are saying about this book but I just wanted to add one other drawback for us.There seems to be a discrepancy in the skill levels required to do these pages. If a child needs practice spelling and writing the words, " me", "it", or " and" , then how can he be expected to write a sentence including that word at the bottom of the page? The example on the cover shows the page where the kids are learning the sight word, "me". Then the child wrote, "please pass me the butter " at the bottom. Even simple sentences seem like a strecth for me. If the child can write full sentences then they probably don't need a worksheet for 2 and 3 letter words.I suppose the child could be given a very simple example sentence and then asked to copy it...i don't know. I think they could have made better use of the bottom of the page. Maybe some kind of puzzle or activity?Perfect as a supplemental aid for Sight Words! This was exactly what I was expecting. I'm a Pre-K teacher who works with 4 year-olds. For many of them, this is their first school experience. This book is a wonderful tool. It covers the list of Sight Words that we are supposed to learn in class over the course of the year, so I pick three a week and send them home one a night as homework. The kids love them and they've retained all of the words that we've learned so far. This is not meant to be used as the ONLY method that you use to teach these words, but rather as a supplemental. When used in that sense, this book has proved itself to be a very valuable resource!

(Guitar Method). Guitarists of all levels will find a wealth of practical music knowledge in this special book with online audio access. Veteran guitarist and author Tom Kolb dispels the mysteries of music theory using plain and simple terms and diagrams. The accompanying recordings provide 94 tracks of music examples, scales, modes, chords, ear training, and much more! To access audio visit: www.halleonard.com/mylibrary

Excellent book Great book.I would recommend this book for guitarist who have some general idea about music theory. This book explains difficult material in a simple matter. I learned how to memorize the notes on the fretboard with ease and simple tricks to make me a more efficient player. I am not a "professional" but a person who just plays for fun. There are a lot of guitar books out there but this is the real deal. A truthful handbook that shows you how to be a better player by explaining what is important. There are no shortcuts to better playing but there are techinques to make you better and simple tricks that can help tremendously.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who was initiative to get better but doesn't want to pay the high cost for formal lessons. This book is ALL SUBSTANCE - NO FILLER, don't let the 100+ pages fool you. Simply put, the BEST music theory for guitarist book out there. Well worth 10X the $20!!!!Disappointed. Anyone having problems getting the audio to play in the kindle app? I tried on my android phone, android tablet and windows pc. All I get is a message that kindle doesn't support the audio. Why publish a book with links to audio files if they can't be played? Disappointed.Great book! Even if you do not know how to read music I play guitar for almost 40 years and played lead guitar professionally for 15 years. This book is very good and very useful even if you do not know how to read music as everything is shown in guitar-tab format as well. You should know how to read chords like am7 or cmaj7 though.I happen to know more than average about music theory but I found some interesting areas that I did not take in consideration before and it gave me some new ideas and inspirations.I think this book will be very useful for any serious guitar player starting at the a early-advanced level. I would say it should be a "must" for the advanced player who wants to complete his/her knowledge about music theory on the guitar.Something for everyone - and the audio samples are really cool!
